I created this piece in an asylum center, where loving myself felt like a rebellious act. As a queer refugee, I was constantly told I didn’t belong, not in a country, not in a body, not in a mirror. When the world says you’re too much, too different, too strange, I answer with flowers, handwriting, and a mirror that refuses to lie. This work is my way of reclaiming the right to be seen, and to say: I am the beauty on the wall, just as all.
30x30 cm, acryl on canvas with markers and a mirror.
